Dear friends, we are pleased to share some good news for us and Voximplant customers. The company was recently audited by the British Standards Institution (BSI) and was certified in relation to the process "Software Development and VoIP Solutions Based on the CPaaS Model" for compliance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001: 2013.
ISO 27001 is a widely recognized international standard that sets out the specification for an information security management system (ISMS). ISO 27001 certification shows Voximplant’s customers that the company is fully capable of protecting their data and providing them with the respective assurances.
However, the issue is not quite so simple. To obtain the ISO 27001 certificate, Voximplant underwent a month-long independent audit, the main goal of which was to analyze the company’s information security process for compliance with the best world practices outlined in this standard. During the audit, BSI auditors performed a comprehensive assessment of the company, ranging from IT and information security to HR departments. After that, a report was compiled, which was additionally analyzed by independent experts. Thus, BSI certified high-level compliance of the company's information security management system only after all the various stages of the audit were completed.
During the certification process, the auditors checked the documentation, met with the employees of different departments, analyzing not only the technical side of data protection, but also the organizational dimension, including the process of hiring, firing and training. We were also involved in the work process: verifying whether employees blocked their monitor screens when leaving the workplace, what programs they use and how, and most importantly – where they store information (not on flash drives, as was proven). The auditors devoted special attention to operations of the IT department.
