How to connect a WhatsApp Business channel via edna

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging services. It makes the communication between you and your customers simple, private, and reliable. Use edna, the omnichannel platform for digital communication, to set up a WhatsApp Business channel.


Before connecting a Whatsapp Business channel via edna, create an edna account and a Facebook Business Manager account.

  1. Log in to your edna account.
  2. Click your profile icon in the upper right-hand corner and select Profile from the drop-down list.

  1. Go to the Profiles list section.
  2. Click the side arrow.
  3. Click Create.
  4. The New WhatsApp Profile window opens.

  1. Fill in the mandatory fields.
  2. Click Submit to registration.

After edna accepts your application, get the edna subject and API token and provide them to the Voximplant Kit support team for internal configuration.

  1. Log in to your edna account.
  2. Click Dashboard and copy your edna subject.
  3. Click Profile in the upper right-hand corner
  4. Go to the Your API key section and copy the generated API token.

To configure your Whatsapp chatbot in Voximplant Kit, do the following:

  1. Log in to your Voximplant Kit account.
  2. Select Settings > Channels and click Whatsapp.
  3. In the request form, enter the phone number, your username, and general information about your company.
  4. Click Send request.

  1. Once the Kit support team receives your request, they will contact you shortly thereafter and ask for the details required for the internal configuration of your WhatsApp channel: your edna Subject and API token.

With this data, the Kit team creates your WhatsApp channel, and you receive the channel URL.

  1. Go back to your edna account and complete the configuration by adding the webhook.
  2. Click Profile in the upper right-hand corner, go to the Your API key section, and enter your Voximplant Kit callback URL.

You can now use the WhatsApp channel for communication with customers via Voximplant Kit.
